GOVERNMENT HILL LIBRARY
Library Classes
Our students have weekly library class. The library lessons focus on reading, library skills, digital citizenship, digital literacy and computer literacy. The students are given an opportunity, and highly encouraged, to check out books every week.
Take a moment to ask your child about the book they are currently reading, Discuss the book or even read the book with your child. This will motivate them to read.
Help younger students keep track and take care of their books. Remind your child to return their book on the day they have library class.
Most importantly, make reading fun!
Returning Library Books
Students are encouraged to return their library books in a timely manner. Keeping books for an extended period of time also deprives other students from reading the book. Please return your books as soon as you finish reading them. Thank you!!
Digital Citizenship: Keeping Your Child Safe and Informed Online
Internet safety and media-balance become a concern for all of us when our kids begin working, playing and communicating online. See our Online Safety Tips page for resources and advice for helping your child safely navigate the digital world.
